We hope you can join us for our 2026 Retreat for elders and elders-in-training focused around the theme of semper reformanda, or the “always reforming” church. We will be meeting at Awaken Church in Columbus, OH 7/17/26 from 6–8:30pm and 7/18/2026 from 8:30am to 11:30am.
Friday evening we be a conversation drawn from the thoughts and attitudes in Gavin Ortlund’s book, “What It Means to Be Protestant: The Case for an Always-Reforming Church”. Ask your Lead Pastor for a copy of the book if you don’t have one already.
Saturday morning we will allow Linworth Road’s recent experience to be an example of what it looks like to intentionally and carefully examine long-held practices or beliefs. Why did they spend time researching and investigating communion? What major views did they consider and how? What was the process like, where are they now, and where are they headed? What would they recommend for other churches as they engage in these things?
